The achievements of an organisation are the combined efforts of every individual. KTP & Company PLT traces its roots to 1999 and to Mr. Koh Teck Peng, who built it from determination, mentorship and a great deal of hard work.
Mr Koh was born in a well-off family. However, he had to bear the burden of the family’s finances due to his father’s business collapsed during his teenage years. Despite all the hardship that he was dealing with, Mr Koh still aspired to success in life. His determination and will power led to a huge success later on.
In reality, it is important to have an education certificate to obtain a job. Unfortunately, he rejected by several universities. However, he did not give up to get a chance to further his studies. He chose the ACCA course for his career. Due to tight financial, he had no choice but study in Kuala Lumpur. He completed his first-tier ACCA course in half a year.
After his first-tier exam, he decided to continue his remaining courses in Johor Bahru. He blessed to meet the most important person in his life, his teacher Mr Tony Seah, who enlightened his career and led him to a successful journey. His teacher not only sponsored his ACCA tuition fees and also provided a work opportunity which had enhanced his relevant knowledge and experience.
After he got his ACCA certificate, with much hesitation, he left Tony’s company to expand his experience by working for different companies. During the two years of switching companies, he realized that working for someone else is not what he sees himself in the future. Since then, he increasingly ambivalent about his entrepreneurship.
With the entrepreneurship in mind, he decided to go back to work in Tony’s company. Thankfully, with the support by Tony, he became a certified auditor and founded his accounting firm – KTP & Company PLT in 1999.
Every entrepreneur face challenges in today’s ultra-competitive business world, Mr Koh had no exception. He found that there is a huge difference between reality and ambition, especially when facing insufficient capital. He over-drafted eight credit cards and plead for longer credit terms from the furniture suppliers when starting up his business.
During this tough entrepreneurship, he met his long life friend who have the same goals and missions, Ms Teo. Success is best when it is being shared. They shared tears of joys and sorrows, both kept an open mind, gave each other time and space when necessary and learnt to recognize triggering moment together.
During the journey of entrepreneurship, he encountered a few great friends as well as colleagues, Ms Lim, Ms Chong, Ms Qiu Hui, Ms Ivy, to fight for better career together. Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision — the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.
After the continuity of hard work, the company has been gradually growing. In 2011, KTP & Company PLT awarded as ACCA Approved Employers at the Gold level. Mr Koh and Ms Teo’s efforts have been finally paid off.
During this period, Mr Koh decided to open his first branch at Taman Melodies to strengthen his company reputation. In the following year, he changed his strategy, he relocated his branch business to his head-quarter at Taman Johor Jaya. He then enlarged his business at Taman Johor Jaya from two offices to three offices.
Over a decade of hard work, KTP has been growing steadily and proudly expanding the company into a larger scale. The ingredients of hard work are pain, sweat and suffering. Yet the taste of success is one of the sweetest things known to mankind. In 2016, KTP owned a 3-layered office building at Taman Molek with 50 over employees.
After another 2 years, KTP & Company PLT awarded as ACCA Approved Employers at the Platinum level. Mr Koh and Ms Teo always strive for providing excellent service for their clients. With that vision in mind, Wisma THK was formed in 2019 and the same year, they own their second 3-layered office building to provide better service for their client.
Today’s, Wisma KTP and Wisma THK had been through the crucial moments and difficulties to build their successful business. This is a real milestone for the KTP & Company PLT founder, Mr Koh who has significantly demonstrated the success in business. The very beginning mind itself is the most accomplished mind of true enlightenment.
He contributes to society by providing employees with training to help them to become a more successful person. Mr Koh hopes to inspire the next generation to reach higher, dream bigger, and achieve greater.
